Absolutely fantastic course! As an occupational therapist in New York, I was looking for a way to better assist my elderly clients in modifying their homes for independence. This program gave me the tools I needed to design safe and functional spaces. I particularly appreciated the modules on accessible bathroom layouts and kitchen modifications—the case studies were incredibly practical. The video lectures from industry experts were top-notch, and the downloadable guides are now part of my go-to reference materials. Highly recommend this to anyone in healthcare or home design!
The course was well-structured and packed with useful content. I'm an architect in Mexico City, and I wanted to expand my expertise into adaptive home designs. The segment on universal design principles really opened my eyes to how small changes can make a huge difference for people with mobility challenges. The assignment on retrofitting a historic home for accessibility was a great hands-on exercise—I actually used some of those ideas in a recent project! The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that some of the materials could use more local examples relevant to Latin America.
Wow, what a game-changer! I run a small NGO in Mumbai focused on elder care, and this course helped me understand how to make homes safer without breaking the bank. The section on low-cost modifications, like lever door handles and slip-resistant flooring, was a lightbulb moment. I immediately shared the PDF guides with my team, and we've already implemented changes in three client homes with amazing results. The instructors were knowledgeable and responsive, and the self-paced format worked perfectly for my schedule. Can't wait to take more courses from Stanmore!
This course exceeded my expectations in many ways. As a project manager for a Dubai-based construction firm, I needed to get up to speed on accessibility standards quickly. The modules on international codes (ADA, BS 8300, and local UAE regulations) were incredibly thorough. The case study on designing a multi-story villa for a wheelchair user was particularly eye-opening—it gave me real-world insights I could apply to our current projects. The only critique is that some of the video content could be more engaging, but the knowledge itself is invaluable. Well worth the investment!
